Networks and deposits
Deposit address
Address assigned to an order to receive your send and attach it automatically to your case.
On networks where generating an address costs nothing, each order gets its own: funds arriving are enough to identify the customer. On networks where opening an account locks a reserve, the address is shared and attribution goes through a memo.
A deposit address is tied to one specific network. The same string may be valid elsewhere — as with every EVM address — without the deposit being expected there. Choosing the network before pasting the address, rather than the reverse, removes almost all of that risk.
