The rail in numbers

All these values come from the catalogue published on this site, and are republished as soon as our own measurements contradict them.

Technical nature
Instant bank transferSettlement in individual messages: the receiving bank must answer within seconds. That is what makes the rail usable at night and on weekends.
Settlement currency
EUR — EuroIf this is not your account currency, your bank applies its own conversion on arrival. That cost does not go through us and does not appear in our breakdown.
Settlement delay (p50 / p95)
1 min / 12 minThe median describes the common case, the p95 the slow one. We show both: a median alone hides exactly what worries you.
Operating window
Continuous, weekends and holidays includedNo cut-off: orders are processed continuously, nights and holidays included.
Min – max per operation
€20.00€100,000Bounds belonging to the rail. An amount above the cap is split into several payouts, which multiplies any fixed fee accordingly.
Rail fee
No rail feeIts own line in the breakdown, next to the network cost and our spread.
Coverage
11 countriesMulti-country rail: behaviour is identical everywhere, so one corridor page per asset — a per-country variant would say nothing more.

02

How this rail actually works

The mechanism does not go through deferred clearing: the sending bank reserves the funds, the message is routed continuously, and the receiving bank must answer within a handful of seconds. That obligation to answer is what makes the rail usable on a Sunday night as on a Tuesday morning.

A few banks still cap inbound instant transfers below the rail limit. If your institution refuses instant on a large amount, the order falls back to standard SEPA and the delay becomes next business day.

What makes the delay

This rail processes orders continuously: there is no business day and no cut-off. The gap between the median and the p95 of 12 min comes from the availability of the receiving institution or operator, not from a clearing window.

03

Details required from the beneficiary

Every field is validated as you type, with the same rule client-side and server-side. That is what prevents most rejected payouts.

FieldTypeRequiredValidation ruleWhy
Account holder nameTextYes2 to 140 characters · edges trimmedMust match the name verified on your ID exactly. A mismatch gets the transfer rejected.
IBANIBANYesIBAN format: 2 country letters, 2 check digits, then the national identifier · upper-casedNo spaces. We validate the checksum before confirming your order.

The rules shown are the ones actually enforced: there is no “marketing” version of this table differing from the code.

The asset does not change how the rail works: it changes the confirmation time before the payout leaves, and the spread applied.

06

The payment methods this rail replaces

These collection rails cannot receive a third-party disbursement. It is the account behind them that we credit, here.

iDEAL
iDEAL is a collection rail: it lets you pay a merchant, not receive funds. Your iDEAL account sits on a Dutch IBAN that we credit via SEPA Instant, usually in under 10 seconds.
Bizum
Bizum works between Spanish individuals and does not accept disbursement from a foreign company. We credit the IBAN behind your Bizum via SEPA Instant instead.
BLIK
BLIK generates one-time codes for paying. To receive, your Polish bank uses an IBAN that we credit via SEPA, or Express Elixir through our partner.
Satispay
Satispay debits your Italian IBAN. That IBAN is what we credit, via SEPA Instant.
MB WAY
MB WAY is a layer on top of your Portuguese account. We credit the underlying IBAN via SEPA Instant.

Frequently asked questions about Virement SEPA Instantane

How fast does Virement SEPA Instantane credit my account?

under 5 minutes in half the cases, and up to 12 min in the slowest ones. This rail runs continuously, weekends and holidays included. These are market orders of magnitude, not a contractual commitment.

What are the minimum and maximum amounts on Virement SEPA Instantane?

Between €20.00 and €100,000 per operation, in Euro. These bounds belong to the rail itself. An amount above the cap is split into several payouts, which multiplies any fixed fee accordingly.

What does a Virement SEPA Instantane payout cost?

No rail fee for the rail itself. That amount appears as its own line in the breakdown, next to the network cost taken from your deposit and our spread. The lines sum to exactly the gap between the mid-market value and what you receive.

What do I need to provide to receive on Virement SEPA Instantane?

2 fields: Account holder name, IBAN. Every format is validated before the order is accepted, not at send time: a typo is flagged immediately, not three days later as a rejection.

Which assets can I sell to Virement SEPA Instantane?

18 assets are offered on this rail. The asset does not change how the rail works: it changes the confirmation time before the payout leaves, and the spread applied depending on whether the asset is stable or volatile.

Any pitfall to know about Virement SEPA Instantane?

A few banks still cap inbound instant transfers below the rail limit. If your institution refuses instant on a large amount, the order falls back to standard SEPA and the delay becomes next business day.
