DAI → Orange Money

Sell Dai and get paid by Orange Money

This corridor converts your DAI into West African CFA Franc and pushes the amount onto Orange Money. This page brings both halves of the trip together: what leaving the Dai chain costs and takes, and what Orange Money does once the order is out.

Corridor available, not yet stabilised

This corridor works and orders are executed. We do not yet have enough volume to consider our delays stabilised: a spread surcharge applies and this page is not proposed for indexing. It stays reachable and linked from the rest of the site.

01

The corridor in numbers

All these values come from the rail and network catalogue published on this site. They are market orders of magnitude, republished as soon as our own measurements contradict them — never contractual commitments.

Median total time
6 minFastest confirmation: 1 min on Arbitrum One, then rail settlement. A slower network shifts everything accordingly.
Rail settlement (p50 / p95)
5 min / 2 hThe median describes the common case, the p95 the slow one. We show both because a median alone hides exactly what worries you.
Operating window
Continuous, weekends includedNo cut-off: the rail processes orders continuously, nights and holidays included.
Settlement currency
XOF — West African CFA FrancIf this is not your account currency, your bank applies its own conversion on arrival. That cost does not go through us and therefore does not appear in our breakdown.
Min – max per operation
F CFA 100,000F CFA 100,000,000On the deposit side the asset minimum adds to the rail one: 20 DAI. The stricter of the two decides.
Rail fee
0.90%Its own line in the breakdown, next to the network cost and our spread. The three sum to exactly the gap to mid-market.
02

The trip, step by step

Each step has its own duration. None is rounded in our favour.

01

Quote and lock

The net shows with the full breakdown. When the order is created, the rate is frozen for the deposit window.

02

Deposit

A dedicated address is issued for your DAI, with the memo if the network requires one.

03

Confirmation

About 1 min on this asset’s fastest network. Tracking shows the confirmation count live.

04

Payout

The order goes out on Orange Money as soon as the threshold is reached: about 5 minutes of settlement, then a downloadable receipt.

03

Deposit networks accepted for this corridor

The network changes neither the rail nor the currency: it only changes how long you wait before the payout can leave.

The pitfall on the deposit side

On Polygon PoS we require one hundred and twenty-eight confirmations: the threshold beyond which a chain reorganisation becomes negligible. Expect a few minutes more than on Arbitrum.

04

Beneficiary details required, and validation rules

Every field is validated as you type, not at send time. An error is flagged immediately rather than as a rejection days later.

FieldRequiredValidation ruleWhy
Numero Orange MoneyYesinternational format number, country code included · normalised to E.164 international formatInternational format. The account must be in your name.
Account holder nameYes2 to 140 characters · edges trimmedMust match the name verified on your ID exactly. A mismatch gets the transfer rejected.

The rules shown here are the ones actually enforced client-side and server-side: a single source, so no possible gap between what the form accepts and what the rail accepts.

05

Countries where this corridor can pay you

The rail behaves identically in each of these countries. The country page adds the local reporting framework and the alternative rails available there.

06

The rail in detail

Orange Money covers five West and Central African countries with a mobile wallet. The rail is in beta with us.

Like other mobile money rails, the payout is pushed to the number and credits a balance, with an SMS notification. The delay depends on the operator platform in the country concerned.

The wallet must be verified and active. An account dormant for months can refuse a large credit until it has been reactivated in an agency.

What we control, and what we do not

We control neither the speed of a block nor that of interbank clearing. We control triggering the payout the moment the confirmation threshold is reached, with no internal queue, and showing you both durations separately so you know which one you are waiting on.

FAQ: Dai to Orange Money

How long between sending my DAI and the money landing?

About 6 min in total in the median case: the confirmation time of the network you pick, then about 5 minutes of settlement on Orange Money. This rail also runs on weekends and holidays.

What is the minimum to sell Dai to Orange Money?

Two minimums apply at once: 20 DAI on the deposit side, and F CFA 100,000 on the settlement side. The stricter of the two decides. The rail cap is F CFA 100,000,000 per operation.

What exactly do I pay on this corridor?

Three lines, shown separately before you confirm: the DAI network cost, taken in kind from your deposit; our spread, surcharged for the corridor’s beta status; and the rail fee, that is 0.90%. There is no fourth line, and the three sum to exactly the gap between the mid-market value and the net.

Does this corridor depend on my country of residence?

Orange Money works the same way in every country it covers: same detail format, same delay, same settlement currency. That is why there is a single page for this corridor rather than one per country: a country variant would say nothing more.

What if I send an amount different from the quote?

Nothing is lost. An underpayment triggers a recalculation at the locked rate, and you receive the amount matching what you actually sent. An overpayment is handled the same way on the excess. In both cases, if the result falls below the rail minimum of F CFA 100,000, we offer another payout method rather than freezing the funds.
